Ricky Gervais returned for his fourth stint as hosts of the bacchanalian party of the year: the Golden Globe Awards. It was a fun-filled evening full of surprises, especially for awards in the television categories, some of which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association gave to smaller projects. Ricky Gervais returned for his fourth stint as hosts of the bacchanalian party of the year: the Golden Globe Awards. It was a fun-filled evening full of surprises, especially for awards in the television categories, some of which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association gave to smaller projects.
"The Revenant" was the big film winner of the night, winning Best Motion Picture – Drama and Leonardo DiCaprio receiving the Globe for Best Actor – Drama. "The Martian" won the prize for Best Motion Picture – Comedy Or Musical, with Matt Damon winning Best Actor – Comedy or Musical Globe for the film.
One of the highlights of the night included Denzel Washington accepting the honorary Cecil B. DeMille Award, with his family on stage and his wife helping remind him who to thank.
